I’ve spent my life living on the Northeast coast & have loved Beach Plum jelly & jam since I was a child. I think I first tried it in Maine. My family spent summers at Sebago Lake in Maine & we enjoyed all the New England specialties. I recall having the jelly on English muffins. My mom was a great baker & made a delicious tart with these stone fruits. I know the plums are still popular all along Cape Cod. Living at the NJ shore, now, I don’t see nearly as many of the wild plants as there were even 10 years ago. Sadly, that seems the case with so many things unique to the coastal region. I enjoy photography & have noticed a significant difference in the number of water fowl; almost half of what was here just a decade ago.
