Had the chow mein sandwich ONCE. It’s as boring and disgusting as it looks.

Having grown up in the Fall River area, we ate this sandwich growing up more times than we can count. It’s not gourmet food, by any means, but is as comforting as any other comfort food you can imagine. It’s a pretty unique combination, and I’m sure it seems odd to the uninitiated, but we did always love it–everyone we knew ate these sandwiches!

Grew up in RI and my aunts would take me to a Pawtucket Chinese American diner to buy 25 cent (yes, CENT) chow mein sandwich. They were so so so so so so good that my mom taught herself how to make them. While mom’s chow mein was delicious, the fun of joining my aunts to buy these little sandwiches was an experience!
