My wife’s family were rice farmers in Alvin and Manvel, TX. I started work at the Manned Space Center in 1967 then the name was changed to the Johnson Space Center so they wouldn’t feel restricted to manned space flight. I drove by the Caibara farm on my way to meet with my then girlfriend who lived in Alvin, TX. At that time I understood the farm raised mostly vegetables.
