Punta Cometa is most famous for it’s sunsets, but I would recommend going much earlier in the day. There’s never “a crowd” of people, but it will not be empty at sunset. Earlier in the day you are more likely to have the place to yourself, and at the end of the point there is a natural pool which you can climb down to for a swim. Bring good walking shoes for walk, it isn’t much over a mile but there is some serious erosion. Getting down to the swimming hole is not for the faint hearted, it’s actually quite treacherous so be careful and make the climb at your own risk. The walk starts out in an old cemetery, always worth mentioning, especially during Dias de Los Muertos, and finish the trip (or starting) by walking into Mazunta where there are plenty of restaurants for all price points.
