Wondering what your criterion is for calling this the last open air shrine in Western Europe? There are, um, a lot of Greek and Roman temples and shrines still in their original, outdoor locations all over Western Europe.

It looks like they got it from the Minerva Shrine Wikipedia which cites the source (#2) as a document published by the Chester City Council. “It’s the only monument of its kind in Western Europe to remain in its original location.”

Considering that Western Europe is really just the UK, Ireland, France, and the Low Countries I don’t find this claim to be too wild especially as Chester has a very strong roman heritage
