I’m usually pretty easy to get along with, until it comes to things like this.
Maybe eating songbirds was okay and not out of the ordinary in other centuries. But there’s no excuse for doing that today. Other than some sort of disgusting, perverse and DUBIOUS bragging rights. It’s right up there with trophy and canned hunts. Lame .
So, have fun eating tiny little birds … maybe the rest of humanity will get lucky and you’ll choke on the bones.

I first heard about the ortolan in the horror story “From The Teeth Of Angels” by Jonathan Carroll. I thought the description of eating the ortolan was fiction–I see now it is not. How apt though that it was included in a horror story.

I’d eat it.

Sometime a cause comes along and you just know it’s what you need to dedicate the rest of your life in joining. For some it’s fighting for political freedom, for others it’s a more religious calling. Thank you for helping me find mine, where do I join the lobbying chefs?
