Does anyone know if this can be visited in just half a day or does it need a full day?
Thanks

From my experience, the tour I was on did not last more than an hour and a half. Within one day I was able to see Akrotiri, Oia and Fira with plenty of time to immerse myself and explore.

Thank you! I appreciate this because we are planning to do this on our own and with out a tour so it helps to know what a tour would do/ how they plan the time.

thanks for sharing!

Well, if you take under consideration that akrotiri is 2,000 older than Pompeii, then it is really worth a visit! We didn’t have a guide when we went to Akrotiri, we just wandered round on our own. Akrotiri is about 20 minutes on bus or akrotiri taxi from Fira town, very quiet and next to archaeological site and the red beach (about 10 minutes on car for both). Few taverns in the neighborhood area, no bars or nightlife, you will need a car to get around the island, so consider this expense necessary.
