it would have been interesting if you’d have included a little history of why the boulder was left instead of being demolished/leveled, especially if it’s an area known to attract rats.

Schist is a super-hard rock. Perhaps this outcrop was too expensive to level. Maybe some loved the view and tried to keep it natural?

As for the rats, who knows? I am curious as to why the photo shows people all over the rock, yet it’s supposed to be fenced off. Wonder if THEY know about the rats?

But for sure, I would be interested in more history! Good question!
