This is for anyone interested in visiting the Sahara Desert. If you’ve looked into it, you must have realised there is no shortage of guides out there, but true expert ones are hard to come by. If you are interested in an off-the-beaten-path adventure in the desert across Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and Western Sahara, I have recently met someone who can do this.
His name is Alioune Jeune D’Azougui, and he is based in Mauritania. Apart from the more tame and usual outings, he can organise trips for professional photographers and documentary makers with specific interests, like exploring the Chinese fishery industry in Nouakchott, finding Pelican-16 crashed in Western Sahara, or hiring a helicopter to view the Richat Structure (aka the Eye of the Sahara) from high up.
His email address is For the record, I get no kickbacks from doing this.

A friend traveled across the Sahara. He had to learn to shoot an AK47 because of the danger of bandits.
Plus isn’t that the place where a drunk driver obliberated the only tree within 200 miles?

Thanks for sharing this info @Max_Cortesi this is certainly some useful travel info for the intrepid explorer. Thanks again and feel free to post any travel tips you may have.
