Did everyone else who’s been here have to book in advance? I tried to go in on Friday on a whim and found all the gates to it locked, and when I checked online it said that tickets must be purchased 24hrs in advance.

I know this is a super late response, but for anyone else out there: yes, you definitely have to book in advance, especially during the summer. I used to live in Padova and have been there 3 or 4 times with people visiting. I don’t remember the gates ever being locked during operating hours - the entrance is not on the main street, perhaps you were not at the right spot.

Never too late! Thanks for the info!
