Hi,
Strawberry fruit are also very common in the South of France. Here, the fruit are called “Arbouses” and the tree is an “Arbousier”. I live in Montpellier and you see them a lot, especially in gardens, but they are not often eaten which is a shame as they have a delicious tangy taste. However, people do make arbouse jam and tarts, and one local distilling company makes an Arbouse-flavoured gin called “Pic-Pic”.

Same here, I saw them many times throughout Marseille and the surrounding region.
