Another rendering of Picasso’s Sylvette, also executed by Carl Nesjar, is at New York University’s University Village near Washington Square in Greenwich Village. It was also somewhat controversial when erected but she is now a much-loved member of the community.


I went to school at NYU and walked by here all the time, and never realized that was a Picasso! Obvious now that I look at it again, of course.

Those towers, designed by I.M. Pei are now primo housing for faculty, not students. Sigh, the poor kids.
