Historic Jamestown is definitely worth the trip. Just a short drive from Colonial Williamsburg, it has some highly significant European contact archaeology, and interesting interpretive programs. I happen to live in the area and can also let you know that there are plans that in the future Powhatan’s village will be excavated and interpreted and hopefully also become a park. (Excavations have begun.) Great area if you are a history or historic archaeology person.

Went to Historic Jamestown with my daughter’s school trip. Now I know why we didn’t do the Archaearium. They are only 5th graders! I have to say the park was fascinating and a beautiful place. Would love to return one day and see the Archaearium as well.
