The Conch Republic! I came down here in 1985 for the first time. I purchased my Conch Silver Dollar declaring Independence. With it’s Conch shell on one side and Key West map outline on back. That was when Silver was a good commodity. I love the laid back attitudes of Key West. Life is slow and easy. Dinner at the Quay was always good! Turtle crawls was another Key West Favorite. Conch fritters are served down by Mallary Square. The sunset activities at Malary Square are the best. You could see performers, vendors and tourists abound. Have a exotic drink at the Dockside Bar. Sloppy Joes is legendary! Pink taxi cabs and Key West Chickens! At the end of the Rainbow, Historic Route 1 ends
