What a beautiful color! Love to know if it could be used for dyeing fiber!

This is very interesting, but from the description, image, and little info I could find on-line, I doubt the color comes from “refraction” as stated in the article. It seems more likely there is an oxidation of a pigment which then absorbs light to give the purple color we see. Light absorbance and refraction are not the same. While light refraction can give colors, it is due to a surface effect which does not appear to the case here. However I was unable to find any technical articles on this tea to provide as a reference.
